One activity I started enjoying again is reading. I used to be such a bookworm but then college happened and reading for fun on top of homework was NOT IT!

So, this month I’m sharing with you how I got back into reading, what I've been reading and how we can connect on our reading journey.

Falling in and out of reading habits is normal but the best way to fall back into reading is finding a story that makes you feel ALIVE! So, start there. Google search: best sellers lists, book club recommendations or enter the world of BookTok (a subcommunity of TIKTOK for readers.) I can’t even describe to you the level of obsession. You just need to go there.

Next, make sure you have the right reading accessories. My recent reading obsession started when I purchased a Kindle. Hands down one of the best reading accessories I decided to get! Don’t get me wrong I love a hard copy, but books take up so much space. Kindles are so light, waterproof and user-friendly. You can easily search a book, buy it immediately through your amazon account and start reading! I also love that it has a highlight feature. You know those sentences that are like DEFINING MOMENTS in books? Yeah, you can highlight those quotes and look up definitions of words right as you're reading.

This year I decided to join a book club and make some reading goals. A book club is a great way to explore book genres and authors you normally wouldn’t pick.

Now, let’s chat about some of my current reads.

The ACOTAR series

If you have stumbled into booktok - The HYPE with these books is real!

Sarah J. Maas DELIVERS an action packed, spicy storyline in a fictional fantasy world. Who knew fairies could be so hot!?

Check out the ACOTAR Bundle HERE!

Thanks to my best friend Brittany RAVING about this series, I have now fallen in love with the characters and worlds that Sarah J. Maas has created. Which led me to read Crescent City; Another page turner! The next book in that series comes out 2/15/22.

You can get the books HERE!

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

This historical fiction novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid explores the life of an aging celebrity and the price she paid for fame. This one kept me on my toes and OH THE TEARS.

Read it HERE

The next few books on my reading list are: Internment by Samira Ahmed, It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover and the Throne Of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas.

If you are diving deep into your reading journey I recommend getting on Goodreads. It’s like social media for bookworms! Once you are there you get to set reading goals, track your progress, follow your friends and explore their current book reviews. You can also organize your books on Goodreads on separate “book shelfs” to keep specific genres, categories or authors together. You can find me HERE  on Goodreads.

I hope this nudged you to open a book and as Willy Wonka would say “Come with me and you'll be in a world of pure imagination" <3
