Start a Bee and Butterfly Garden

I know, I know. I tell you guys to plant things all the time, but I can not express how important it is. Bees and butterflies play an essential role in our food supply. If you live in an apartment container gardens are also an option. Here are some plants that pollinators love!

  • Coneflower
  • Lavender
  • Aster
  • Bee balm
  • Yarrow
  • Milkweed
  • Goldenrod
  • Mint

Dirt Cups

No celebration is complete without dessert, so bake a sweet treat to finish off your Earth Day activities. While you're making your sweet treat you can talk about the importance of composting and how worms play an essential role in our eco system.

Ingredients:

  • Milk
  • small cups
  • oreo cookies
  • gummy worms
  • one package of instant chocolate pudding

Instructions:

  1. Mix the chocolate pudding with 3 cups of milk
  2. Evenly distribute the chocolate mixture in cups
  3. Crush Oreos with your hands or a sandwich bag
  4. Spread the crushed Oreos on top of the pudding
  5. Add the gummy worms on top
