The holidays can be overwhelming. Between holiday shopping, family get togethers and what seems like a never ending to do list, it can seem almost impossible to unwind. I want you to take a deep breath and try these ways to keep your stress levels under control.

Yoga

Start your morning with some yoga. Even just setting aside 10 minutes every morning to do some stretches can set a positive tone for your entire day. Take a few minutes to be present so you aren't waking up to doom and gloom every morning.

Minimize Screen Time

Constant use of screen time, whether it's from our phones or the television can raise stress levels and induce anxiety. It's tempting to end up in a never ending doom scroll, especially with it getting so dark so early and being so cold. Try to read a book or play some board games with the family instead!

Make Time for Fun

This sounds impossible some days. How are you supposed to set aside time for yourself when you have so many responsibilities. I am telling you that getting out of the house and spending some time with friends can greatly reduce depression and anxiety.

Simple Gifts

Money is tight for a lot of people right now and the thought of having to buy gifts for everyone can be extremely stressful. You don't have to go all out this year. Simplify your Christmas list and stop buying gifts just to buy gifts.

Self Care

Some simple self care can go a long way. Take a warm, relaxing bubble bath. Light a relaxing smelling candle. Have an at home spa day. Take time for YOU because you're important too.

Take some time to breathe and remember...you've got this!
